I've noticed in C:/Windows that I have the files Twunk_16 and Twunk_32. After searching the web I see that some people think these files are fine (they are related to cameras and scanners) and some say that they're part of a worm (i think). I don't have a camera or a scanner, so I don't like finding these files on my hard drive. I tried to delete them but it keeps saying "you need permission to perform this action." I am the administrator and this message comes after I give administrator approval for the deletion. Very weird. I have experienced no problems or errors. I just happened to come across these files. I've attached the suggested "log" but I don't see these files in it. Should I? If not, is there anything you see in the log that needs taking care of? Thanks for you help. I hope to understand these things better someday... Btw I leave the country first thing in the morning and will be without internet until Monday.

I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following: Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot. Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it as a reply.

I've noticed in C:/Windows that I have the files Twunk_16 and Twunk_32.

I would like to see a copy of the file in bold.

Click start / then my computer / local disk then follow the process tree.
Or using Windows Explorer, locate the first file you want to zip.
Right click on the file and select Send To and Compressed (zipped) Folder.
This makes a copy it does not delete it.
Please zip the file and upload it here
Or email it here

Please include a link to this thread.
