Years ago I was having problems with my computer and I posted to a forum and I received help on fixing the problems. I have performed the hijack this scan and have the log which I will post below. I am hoping someone can help me out and tell me what to do from here.

I have also attached the log since I wasn't sure how you would want to look at it.

Please let me know if I am in the right place for help! Thanks!! Kathy

I am throwing this edit into my 1st message because I just realized I forgot to say what problems I am having. My computer is soooooo slow I can barely work sometimes. I use this computer for my small-home based business so this worries me. It also the last few days will just drop programs. I will be working on something and the program will just close by itself. Then sometimes my whole screen turns bright red! Also, I can only have a few programs open at once or it really is slow!

hi kthompson,

your antivirus is up to date? copy/paste the safe mode part into notepad so you can read it in safe mode
boot your computer into safe mode.
to reach safe mode you would tap the f8 key during a computer restart.
chose the first option from the list; safe mode

once in safe mode:

using explorer(right click on start>explore) drill down to these you want to delete whats >inside< the folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\-Your Profile-\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ (will dump all your cached internet content including cookies)

C:\Documents and Settings\-Your Profile-\Local Settings\Temp\

C:\Documents and Settings\-Any other users Profile-\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\

C:\Documents and Settings\-Any other users Profile-\Local Settings\Temp\

run your antivirus in safe mode also.
reboot normally and do a online scan here:

ESET online scanner:

uses Internet Explorer only
check "YES" to accept terms
click start button
allow the ActiveX component to install
click the start button. the Scanner will update.
check both "Remove found threats" and "Scan unwanted applications"
click scan
when done you can find the scan log at:C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt

please copy/paste that log in next reply, along with a new hjt log.
