The Trojan thing got so bad I could hardly open anything up so I quickly saved everything important on an external drive in safe mode, ran spybot and AVG in safe mode, and then did a system restore to a few days before the problem arose. Currently there seems to be no sign of the Trojan. Is this all I needed to do? Or are there some more steps I need to take to ensure my system is safe.
I have included a new highjack this log which I did after the system restore.

Thanks again for the help
You guys rock!

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Next:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I followed your instructions and posted the two separate logs. Currently my computer seems to be fine-the only weird thing I noticed was when I got on this morning Pidgin (the program I use to run my email accounts and instant messaging) asked me to add my two email accounts to the program even though they were already there. Other than that my computer speed is fine and have had no other problems.
I cant express how greatfull I am for the time you guys put into helping people with their tech problems.
Thanks again

Lets dig a little deeper in case something is hidden.

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, please delete it from your desktop and download this new version . It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
--------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.
  • WARNING: IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts
  • Please do not re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

Give it atleast 20-30 minutes to finish

Here are the logs you wanted.
I completely disconnected from the internet when I ran the combo fix program but spybot kept notifying me of registry changes and I went ahead and clicked "allow change" so the program could finish. Should I turn off spybot and run combo fix again or was this alright?
Thanks in advance for the help :banana2:

Hope you having a great day :notworthy:

Every thing seems to be back to normal. You guys rock :woot: I have spent a hundred dollars before having someone talk me through problems with my computer-furthermore, they had a poor attitude. It's been a refreshing experience working through my tech problems with you. Thanks again. :notworthy: I am having a completely unrelated problem with my Radeon 9800 series video card. When I turn my computer completely off and try to turn it on a red label pops up on the screen that says "you need to connect you extension cable to your radion video card" or something like that-and then windows will not start up. The only way I can get it to turn on is by pressing on the cable that goes from the video card into the power supply. Im afraid to turn my computer off because its getting harder and harder to get this to work. Recentley I had to try this like 10 times before I could get my computer to boot. Im not sure if by me holding the cord its allowing the computer to turn on or if just me turning it on and off over and over again thats allowing my computer to boot. I know this is an unrelated topic and the initial problem has been solved-do you guys give hard ware advice? Should I post this in another forum area? Thanks in advance

I hope you mean the video cable from the monitor and not the power supply in the computer.
My best guess would be to open the case, make sure the power cable from the computer to the electrical out let is removed from the wall outlet first and wait another 10 minutes before doing anything, remove the video card and try reseating it in the proper slot again.
NOTE: Be careful. Some video cards have a little tab in the front where it locks into the card slot at the bottom.

If that doesn't do the trick, start a new topic here:
