OK, my name is Marie, and I am married to a computer analyst, but sometimes that will only take you so far. I have had an infiltration of Ucleaner and while we have deleted most of the traces with some virus software, I am now getting a white screen where my desktop was and a message that privacy_danger index cannot be found. I confess I did go into regedit and delete 4 files that contained privacy_danger which gave me the white screen. I am guessing something when the computer boots is looking for that registry file. any advice?
Best advice I can give you, is to head over to the malware-removal forum, and post a HiJackThis log. By the sound of it, you may still be infected, and if not, the traces from Privacy_Danger can probably be fixed with there help aswell. Often one infection doesn't come alone, and you might have more under the surface. In any circumstances, working / troubleshooting on a possible malware-infected machine is no good. If you still have issues after a "clean message" from the malware-experts, you're more than welcome to post back in this thread, and I am sure there will be capable people here to help.
When you post a HiJackThis-log, please be patient, as there is great pressure on the limited number of malware-experts. The needs often exceeds the available experts.
