[Resolved] ad served by context enhancer

Hi,… i was wondering if anybody could help me with an infection i have on my computer,…. i have tried all the spyware removal programs but this one just wont go away,… its a pop up that says "ad served by context enhancer" everytime i open up a new browser window,… i am pretty much a novice technically and have seen your site and saw that you have helped people with the same problem before any help would be greatly appreciated

Download HijackThis from Here .

• Choose the default location of C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis as the destination. HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!
• Click the Install button.
• Accept the license agreement .
• Click Do a system scan and save a log file. A Notepad file will open.
• Select all the text by hitting the [Ctrl+A] keys, then copy your selection to the clipboard by pressing the [Ctrl+C] keys.
• Paste the log into this thread by hitting the [Ctrl+V] keys.
• when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
• POST the log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Hi Trevuren, I found a mail just after i wrote the my mail to you, saying "just go into c drive program files and click on context enhancer, then uninstall context enhancer" i have done this and iam now pop up free,…. was this the right thing to do????

I can not tell without seeing s fresh HJT log. Who sent you the email?

no-one sent me the mail,… it is on this web page down the bottom by a guy called spider pig,…… should i still back up all my files and then dowload HJT and send you a file log???

1. It is never a wise thing to do to follow instructions issued by someone who is not authorized to post on these boards. You got off lucky this time. 2. There is no question of you backing up all your files at present. 3.If you would like your system checked over, you must give us something to look at, a HijackThis log. If however you consider the matter resolved to your satisfaction, please just advise us accordingly so we nay archive your thread. Thanks, Trevuren
