Hi

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When asked to install HijackThis, click Yes
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt in your next reply
Main text first then extra text. Thanks

Hi To begin with, I see you have disabled your Anti-Virus. You should re-enable that now. Im not familiar with Kaspersky AV, but if you can, could you post a report from the scan you did with Kaspersky?
Oh Thanks Scotty - I forgot I disabled it earlier today to do a Panda online scan. Ok I'll see if I have a Kaspersky scan saved, I do have the Panda scan also. Back in a bit. See you Scotty!
Here's the Panda one, I'll have to rescan with Kaspersky, I couldn't find anything saved. Hi

By the look of it, Spysweeper has quarantined the infected files, or it's a false positive part of Spysweeper that Kaspersky is picking up.
Try opening up Spysweeper and look for a tab to open Quarantine and delete anything that might be in there.

You have two older versions of Java you need to remove through Add/Remove Programs
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2

For the moment leave this version
Java™ 6 Update 3

But update 4 is out now, unfortunately the download for the Windows version is not currently working. I will post the Update procedure for you to try in a couple of days. Remember to remove the above version when you have it.

Delete the older versions of Java and download the newest.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
  • Close any programmes you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
  • Click Start > Control Panel.
  • Click Add/Remove Programs.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (4th one down the list), which is JRE6u4, and click Yes at the page warning. Under "Platform" select Windows, then check the box to accept the Licence Agreement. Click Yes at the second page warning before downloading the Offline file.

You can also remove DSS from your Desktop.

Good luck
Thanks Scotty – I did all you suggested but couldn't find the files in Spy Sweeper. So I upgraded to the most recent Kaspersky Anti Virus, that identified the trojan but wouldn't removerthem. I tried Ad Aware, SpyBot. They didn't work. The new Kaspersky was taking to long so i uninstalled it and reinstalled the previous version and then did a system restore to last Thursday. I don't know if what I did made any real sense but Kaspersky is telling me I'm clean and the PC runs fine again. So thanks for your help and I updated my Java stuff too. Cheers
