Getting those programs will help, but nothing is 100%.
I don't use McAfee or Norton on my home pc. My guess is the new pc will come with one or the other.
Just remember: Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.
Oh! I understand that nothing is 100%, but I just want the best protection I can get – from YOUR perspective!!!

If you were getting a brand spanking new computer (ok, you don't seem to be the flamingo pink computer type), that came with Trend Micro's anti-V, and you were stuck with Vista's operating system, what would you do to best protect it?
I don't us it but from what I read below, it appears it has the right protection.
