Here are the directions as they appear to perform POST : !-reboot 2-After "POST"(the power on self test usually has a text mode screen at the beginning when a system boots up), keep pressing the f8 key until Windows startup menu appears. 3-Choose, "safemode with networking" and press enter. 4-Open internet explorer and test. I have been in safe mode with networking and; before, during, and after I see no indication of this test. Could someone rephrase the steps as apparently I'm missing something. Thank you`
Most likely your BIOS is setup to display the OEM Logo instead of the POST text messages. You should be able to change this in BIOS Setup. F1, F2, F10 or the Del key will usually get you into BIOS Setup. Where you go after that depends on the make of the computer and the BIOS manufacturer.
I will poke my nose into the bios and see what I can do. I am expecting a repsonse from an M.S. tech who is working on the problems I suddenly had. One was a corrupted Windows Live one Care Center Scan, and the other was a corrupted Roxio site. I went from a stable pc to some bumps not my fault. If the report is ok re hijack than I think I may be in the clear. I was about to give up after a week of misery but yesterday am I said one more system restore back to the first of the month -after some catching up all seems well. I am learning a lot from folks like yourself and although I'm a bit long winded all's well that ends well. Thanx again.
