First time user of your great service. I appreciate it being available.

Computer System:

Dell Latitude, Intel Pentium III, 1.0 GHz, 256 MB Ram

Operating System:

XP Pro, Ver 2002, Service Pack 2, IE 7.0

Internal Disk Drive:

Hitachi_DK23 CA-20

Network Adapters:

US Robotics Wireless MAXg PC Card
3Com 10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet

Symptoms:

Friend dropped off the system saying it was running very slow and, it wouldn't download.

I found Norton Internet Secrurity subscription good for another 186 days.

Norton defitions and updates had not been installed since April of 2007.

Norton was not functioning, could not reinstall. Attempted uninstall???

Installed AVGfree and it found 113 infected files. Last scan indicated no remaining threats.

Downloaded and installed about 80 microsoft system updates.

Defragged after system updates.

Concern:

Takes 4 to 5 minutes to load the system, appears to funtion normal after system loads.

I really don't think it is clear or it has other issues. I would appreciate your diagnosis and have provided the HighJackThis report below. Thankyou for your assistance. I am retired and patient. Is that a conundrum? Gene
