I used Start up Lite and ticked off all the progys it said were not necessary at start up. This included a nvidia Daemon to do somethings to the Geforce 7300 LE. Then I rebooted. The welcome screen stayed on for about 4 minutes and then the desktop showed up minus all the icons! Some minutes later the icons appeared and the pc behaved normally. Puzzeld I started Start up Lite again, lo and behold all the progys were absent from the list except the nvidia daemon. Thinking that this may be a conflict I ticked take no action and S.u.Lite said it will be implemented at next start up so I rebooted—alas no change. For reasons I have no explanations, I deleted Start up Lite so I cant run it to give you the exact discription of the daemon–it was very long. Has someone else had the same experiance? What shall I do now? I tried system restore but that goes back to only the 5th. I am sure I had start up lite before then. All help would be greatly appreciated. I had downloaded the progy through a link on this forum. I cant remember the thread. I just googled and it gave lots of sites for absolute startup lite 6. I downloaded it. But this is not the same progy. The one origionally did not install on the hard drive but worked from where I had downloaded to( C ). I am afraid to install the new one on my hdd. Moreover, the photo on the download site of this progy does not resemble the one I used. Any thoughts? Well I just did system restore to the 5th and viola got back the progy. It is startuplite (one word) by malwarebytes.org. It again showed NvCpldaemon but I ticked take no action, then switched off and rebooted. All seems to work nicely now. So no action needed at the moment.
