I was downloading some stuff last night and a number of things started happening.

-I started to get IE popups telling me i have spyware and i needed to download something to remove it
-Most of the icons in my systemtray were removed and 2 new ones showed up to give me system balloons that i had been infected with spyware
-New icons appeared on my desktop linking me to websites where i could download things like "Antispywareshield" and "Error Cleaner"
-My control panel was removed from my start menu
-My desktop background has turned to white instead of the picture that should be there.

Actions taken

-I ran Spybot Search and Destroy which finished its scan then died (either crashed or was shut down by something)
-I ran Superantispyware which found and removed a number of things.
-I ran AOL spyware protection which found 2 items and blocked them.
-I ran Norton Antivirus which came up with nothing at all.

Results After restart.

-Desktop was still white instead of normal
-Task Manager and Regedit were restricted by the admin (i'm the only admin on this PC)
-CPU usage had went from normal (2-10%) to 50-100% (used process explorer to find this out as task manager was disabled)
-Control Panel was still missing

I re-ran Spybot S&D which found more stuff, and then removed it, which fixed the CPU usage problem. I then went to run and msconfig to see if anything had been added to my start up list.

An autos.exe had been added, which isnt in the location it should be (or is hidden even when "view hidden folders" is selected).
The same goes for an infos.exe
There is also a winter.exe which is hidden.

I deselected these from running with start up.

After i restarted my PC, all my problems seem to be solved, apart from those .exe files which i cant find.
