whenever i go to microsoft outlook, this error pops up: "The add-in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\atww\mco.dll" could not be installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved using Detect and Repair on the Help menu."
However after using the detect and repair feature, I still get this error.
(and this is new, it started right I used combofix scans to remove some malware)
I can still use my outlook fine, this constant error is just kind of annoying

As others have not responded, please do the following and see how you go.
Windows Protected System File Checker SFC
Start>Run
type:
sfc /scannow (note the space)
Have your Win XP installation disc handy as if damaged files are found they will need to be copied across from your disc, if SFC can't find correct copies elsewhere.
Looks like we are playing with a trace or reminent of a Keylogger infection you had. The bad .dll file is gone but outlook still wants to run it.
I had a thought to try something here. Nothing to lose by looking at it if the SFC routine our good friend tallin suggested doesnt fix it. I am thinking that Outlook has a entry in the Trust Center that needs to be cleared.
You'll need to find the add-in you want to disable in the Add-ins section of the Trust Center. In Outlook 2007, click Tools, then Trust Center. In the Trust Center window, click Add-ins to see all the add-ins that are installed, whether active or not. You would be looking for something with that mco.dll in it.
Find the name of the add-in you want to work with in the Name column, then find out what kind of add-in it is in the Type column.
Once you know the type of add-in, select that type in the Manage box at the bottom of the page and click Go. This opens a dialog box where you can manage all add-ins of a particular type.
Clear the checkbox next to the name of an add-in you want to disable (but not uninstall) or select the add-in and click Remove to uninstall it.
Assuming what tallin suggested didnt work, or you wanted to look at a different avenue for repair. The location for managing outlook plugins are as follows.
1. Start Outlook 2003.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Other tab, do one of the following:
• Remove COM add-ins. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Advanced Options.
2. In the Advanced Options dialog box, click COM Add-ins.
3. In the Add-Ins available list, click to clear the check box for any add-ins that are installed
4. Click OK to close the COM Add-Ins dialog box..
• Remove add-ins in the Add-In Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Add-In Manager.
2. Click to clear the check box of any installed add-ins that are listed in the Add-In Manager dialog box.
3. Click OK.
4. Click OK to close the Advanced Options dialog box.
5. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
For older version of Outlook (if you have Outlook 2000)
The steps are the same as what Kazzoo has correctly laid out, except:
"Advanced"(tab) is displayed as "other"
Then click on Advanced Option(button) in the top area of that panel(General)
The remaining steps are the same.
Best Regards
