Hi recently my computer's performance has been greatly declining, I ran a registry cleaner which fixed things speed wise but other problems remain:

-I am receiving Blue screen crashes at irregular intervals for no apparent reason.
-Multiple applications have stopped working. In some cases i'm told its a "339 runtime error" and that component "xunzip30.ocx" is not correctly registered, but most of the time the application just won't work, my itunes for instance starts up, i can see it in the task manager, but nothing is happening.

Here is my HijackThis log and thank you for any help in advance :)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Sorry about the delay in responding

If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Ok here is the info requested, first I'll give a little sum up of my computer's abnormal behaviour:

-While the Bluescreen crashes are less common( yet still existant), now my computer shuts randomly switches off.

-I'm having an issue with the "xunzip30.ocx" file in a "339 Runtime error", apparantly its not registred, this has resulted with numerous applications no longer working.

-To finish i'm haing display issues: my screen resolution has dropped and I know have little vertical columns of red cubes across my screen. My graphics card is not working so i've had to disactivate it yet the problem persists…

Hi

Im not convinced this is a malware problem yet. Before I send you to the Tech Helpers, let's take a look from another angle.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
  • Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

      + Extended(If available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:

      + Scan Archives
      + Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

With the exception of Internet Explorer, which is needed for the Kaspersky Scan, keep ALL programs closed until the scan is complete.
sorry but i'm unable to complete a virs scan witht the program you requested as it causes my computer to shutdown, well for thepower to cut, Its not like it goes through a shutdown process, screen just dies out. :(
Hi

Do you have, or have you had a program called Cyber Alert installed?

Let's try this instead.

Download Superantispyware (SAS) free home version.

SAS Free

Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
 Click the Scanning Control tab.
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
  • Close browsers before scanning
  • Scan for tracking cookies
  • Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
  • Please leave the others unchecked.
  • Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
  • After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
  • Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
  • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
  • It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
  • Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
Click close and close again to exit the program.
Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.
