Hi. The other day while searching for something on my pc I found an entry "C:\Program Files\MarkAny"
which contains the subfolder "C:\Program Files\MarkAny\ContentSafer" I don't remeber installing this so I instantly googled it and found out it is some sort of drm carp**. Upon further investigation, I read that this malware installs it self via software for samsung mp3 players.(yepp studio) I tried to delete via add/remove programs but the butoon was grayed out to delete it. I then tried another add/remove that is on a different program and all that did was remove the entry from add/remove programs but did not uninstall the markany folder nor any of the registry entries. My AVG anti virus runs everyday as does windows defender. I also scan once a week with adaware SE and also spy-bot . No of these scans turned up anything pertaining to Markany /contentsafer. Most things on the nets that I have found so far as to how to deal with this malware points to HJT and these forums. So could you plz look at my log post and tell me what you think. Also be on the lookout for other nasties that may have crept onto this system that I haven't noticed. I am only on dial-up so any help with speeding up this puter is most welcome. Thanx in advance. :)
