I have been getting IE pop-ups while running Firefox. I also have noticed that Firefox takes an incredibly long time to boot and it feels like is using the internet on dial-up. While running a ClamWin anti virus scan, i noticed the file check_LSA7.txt (and others) denied it permission so i decided to research it. Obviously i found it and would now like to be rid of it. Below is my HJT log. Please let me know if there is anything i can do.

Please download ComboFix (by sUBs) from one of the following links:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

Save it to the Desktop.
Double-click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running.
It may cause it to stall.

When finished, it produces a log.

Please provide the contents of the ComboFix log in your reply–and a new hjt log please.

http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
* Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

hi TNMagister, ok thanks for the info. good vundofix came up clean. hjt log looks ok hows it looking on your end now? shelf life
Everything seems to working just fine now. No pop-ups and my internet is running normally. Is it ok to remove HJT, Combofix, and Vundofix now? Thanks again for the help. TNMagister
hi TNMagister,

yes you can remove them with this:

start>run and type in the window:
ComboFix /u (there is a space after combofix) it will remove vundo backups also.

if all is good its time to make a new restore point:

One of the best features of Windows ME or XP is the System Restore option, however if a malware infects a computer with this operating system it can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after malware removal.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(winXP)

1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot
