My computer has been freezing out of no where while it is in the middle of performing a task that it would normally have no trouble handling, such as setting a new background, opening a folder, saving data onto a disc, etc. This has been happening a few times a day for the past few days. I thought nothing of it the first time it froze, but after it froze more than a couple of times for a couple of days, I became suspicious. I haven't really done anything different on my computer than I usually do, or anything that I'd think would cause this to happen, but I think that there is a problem. I came to this forum the last time I was having trouble with my computer, and was very happy with how quickly and easily my problem was resolved. Although the problem I had last time was much more detailed than this one, I'm hoping that my problem can be resolved if some one would analyze my HijackThis log and see some thing suspicious. Sorry if my problem isn't detailed enough, but that is the best I can describe it. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with Microsoft XP Service Pack 2 if it would be helpful to know. Lets try removing SpywareGuard not a program I would have installed. Reboot and rescan with HiJackThis and post a new log here. Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thank you for replying and helping me out. I appreciate it. Some time before receiving your reply to my post, my computer froze, and when I went to manually shut it down by holding down the power button, a message came up saying that it was ending something called "Hidden Fax." I don't know if that's something normal, or if something is wrong with my computer causing "Hidden Fax," which I've never heard of, to be running. Also, a while later when I wasn't using my computer and tried to shut it down, a message came up saying that it was ending a program called "jusched.exe." This made me suspicious that twice in a row my computer wouldn't shut down immediately when I wanted it to because it was ending programs that I've never heard of. I don't know what's going on, but I hope that you do. After getting your instructions, I removed Spyware Guard, but the last time I came to this forum, the person helping me recommended it, so I would like to know why you would not have this program. After removing the program, I restarted my computer and ran HijackThis. Here is the log. Also, at the moment, my computer isn't behaving out of the ordinary, but I do have the issue of my computer delaying in shutting down because it is ending various programs that I've never heard of. Also, my computer has been running significantly slower since the trouble began.

jusched.exe << is part of java it is the updater SpywareGuard << there is two programs with that name the one from javacool is ok sorry. Log looks clean. "HiddenFaxWindow" is the name of the window used by fax to support system tray notifications. Fax service posts status updates and other notifications to this window. You can disable system tray notifications by going to Printers and Faxes > Fax > Properties > Tracking tab > uncheck those that are not required. Or See if you have fax services checked in add/remove. 1. Choose Control Panel from the Start menu. 2. Choose Add or Remove Programs. 3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components to start the Windows Components Wizard. 4. In the Components list, if there's a checkmark in the fax services box, uncheck it. Reboot.

Since the confusion about the SpywareGuard program is cleared up, I re-installed it. From what you say, it seems that there isn't anything wrong with my computer. I'm just confused about why my computer's activities seemed so suspicious if nothing was wrong, and why my computer still seems to be running slow. I play PokerStars occaisionally, but decided to remove it seeing how I don't play it as frequently as I used to.
