Hi,

Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the following if present.
Click Start > Control Panel > Double Click Add or Remove Programs:

RXToolBar

——————————————————————-

Run HijackThis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SemanticInsight] C:\Archivos de programa\RXToolBar\Semantic Insight\SemanticInsight.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://kv.bar.need2find.com/KV/menusearch.html?p=KV
O16 - DPF: {0F9B4CA4-A30F-480A-841D-69B45C50A8F8} (SekureL0gin.SekureKontrol) - http://secure2.comned.com/signuptemplates/AktiveSekurity.cab

Then close all windows except this one and press Fix checked.

Using Windows Explorer make sure this folder is deleted:

C:\Archivos de programa\RXToolBar

Your Java Runtime Environment is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2, The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and save it to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially any web browsers.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u2-windowsi586.exe to install the newest version.

The computer is running way better, but just the start up takes toooooooooo long, maybe its bcz of the 2 antivirus things, im planning to remove the mcafee and stay with the nod32 since its uptodate or with the AVG (dont know need ur guidance here), but still im keeping them both till we finish and u recomend me a free firewall as u told me to remind u when we finish….

and hey thanks for everything =)
Yes, your computer should start up quicker once you remove McAfee. My recommendation at this point would be to go ahead and remove McAfee then install one of the following firewalls, or at least enable the Windows Firewall. I'm currently using Sunbelt and am very happy with it both performance wise and ease of use. I was using Zone Alarm but it has become such a resource hog that I don't use or recommend it any more. After doing these steps if you still want to speed things up you can certainly disable many of the items in your startup. You can use msconfig for this or have HJT remove the startups. The only thing I really have at startup is my security software. Everything else can be run from the desktop, or programs, ect… Let me know.

Sunbelt Personal Firewall
Outpost Firewall
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some other available ones see the link below:
Understanding and Using Firewalls
Ok Dave , done, Made my antivirus NOD32, and intalled the sunbelt firewall… And ofcourse uninstalled the whole mcafee pack… anything else on way? =)
OK great. Post a fresh HJT and let me know if you would still like to speed things up, I can take a look to see what could be disabled at startup. These would be optional items you would have to make the choice whether or not you need them at startup.
Hey Dave

Here its the fresh HJT log:

And hey thanks again for everything =)
Hi,

All of the items here are optional except the one marked in red. This should definitely be fixed. I've given a brief explanation under each one to help you decide.

Use HJT to remove the startup entries. You can also use msconfig to test out first if you like. That way they are easily re-enabled through msconfig.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which may be infected anyway).

Click Start>Help and Support>Undo changes to your computer with System Restore
Select Create A Restore Point then click Next. Give it a name it and then click Create

Click Start>Run and type Cleanmgr
Click the More Options Tab.
Click Clean Up in the System Restore section.

In addition to updating and using what you currently have you may want to consider the following:

Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. Here are some free and evalutation versions that provide
better security than the Windows Firewall.Sunbelt Personal Firewall
Outpost Firewall
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some other available ones see the link below:
Understanding and Using Firewalls

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly or set your computer to receive automatic updates. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Install Ad-Aware - Ad-Aware SE You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer

Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

Install SpywareGuard - SpywareGuard provides a real-time protection solution against spyware that is a great addition to SpywareBlaster's protection method.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareGuard to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

Use IESpy-Ad -
IESpy-Ad will block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email. Instructions for set up and use can be found at the website.

Update all of your Anti-Malware programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed and the ones you are currently running regularly. Without regular updates you Will Not be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Here is a great link to a post here on securing your PC after an attack.

OK , all done last cocern is wut to do with all the files i downloaded in the process like smitfraud, combofix, and each created a folder like qoobox and smitfraud etc etc etc… and wut abt avg spyware sas, and all the rest of the program, should i just leave them…???
Thanks for the reminder  You can remove all the tools including removing the C:\qoobox folder. And any other cleaned up files. Also empty the Recycle Bin. On AVG AntiSpyware it's up to you whether or not you want to keep it. If you're happy with SAS that's fine. You could still keep AVG for one time scans though as the free version will no longer provide real time protection.
Hi Dave…
Ok all done like u said… just one thing, when i srated deleting and deleting files etc, and playing with my congf, i notice some banners on the net wont open anymore, it just shows a small x in red….
dont know if its the firewall or is it that i just erased a file or changed something, an example of the banner that wont show anymore is that the one of hotmail when u open ur inbox, the top banner that always shows, or in this site http://medusa.unimet.edu.ve , the central banner should say Universidad Metropolitana but it wont open neither, and in many other sites happens… anyways I dont know i f u know what im talking about, but if not its ok man =)…

By the way computer is wroking so fast and smooth, any last thing u still wanna check, a last log HJT log? or anything else?

Ok Thanks again =)
That's your Sunbelt Firewall blocking ads. Sunbelt is pretty aggressive in spotting and stopping things that it thinks are ads. Occasionally you may even get a "page blocked by SPF" when you navigate to certain web pages. If you know it's safe you can either temporarily disable it or you can try to play around with the configuration to see those ads if you like. I have had it running for about 2 months now myself and I don't miss the ads…but some people like to see them. Glad to hear it's running well.
Ok, so everything seem to be better than Ok, and yes computer is going like spuer sonic speed lol

Anyways im gonna leave you a last HJT log, just in case to see if everything is ok.
