As the title suggests, I am currently expieriencing a lage amount of popups and browser redirections. I am assuming that this is what is making my computer run so slow. I have run adaware and it detected and removed (supposedly) 20 high profile pices of malware inluding a few trojan downloaders and data miners. Some of the removal required fixing my computer during boot as well. Could somebody please help me clean this mess up?
edit: Things seem to be getting worse. I can no longer se images on my computer, just the jpg symbol or w/e it is. Also, I can not acces the task manager, which worries me. There is also a bar popping up where the active x controls would show advertising for another AV program.

Here is my HJT log file:

Hi gotoblivon
we have some work to do:
FIRST:
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from this site:
http://download.blee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt

Now lets check some settings on your system.
(2000/XP) Only
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Click the Networking tab. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable on some systems
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)
good luck mschroe919

Thanks for the continued help. Currently, everything is working the way it was, except for one thing. I cant acces my file viewing options to make them all hidden or unhidden. The drop down menu only says things like "map network drive" or "disconnect network drive" and also "synchronize". I have never seen these before under the tools menu. I am looking at the my computer window for these results. Also, here is my log:

.Hi gotoblivon
as far as files try this:
1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
right click on CheckedValue left click on modify then in value window change 0 to 1
now it will look like this:
CheckedValue” REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
NEXT:
after changing reboot and see if you can show hidden files.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally.
good luck mschroe919

The key was already as you said it should be. Is there a way that just that spot could be infected or changed in anyway?
