Howdy rennyj,

Welcome to What The Tech. No infection showing here, or anything outright amiss for that matter. How often do you clear out temp storage onthe system? Let's do that, and take one additional look to be sure.

Go Here and download ATF cleaner. Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected (and close ATF).

If you have them, also click on Firefox/Opera at the top and repeat the steps (and close ATF). Firefox/Opera will need to be closed first for the cleaning to be effective.

Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here. You can use separate posts if needed.

Jintan thanks very much responding to my problem.
I don't clean The Temps out much at all.
I ATF Cleaner.
Ran Silent Runner, but it came to finding the Startup Programs file I had trouble finding it. What I did find was an Icon on my desk top labeled "Startup Programs(NOTEBOOK)2007-09-29 11.13.37.txt" so I opened it and that is what is pasted below:
"Silent Runners.vbs", revision 52, http://www.silentrunners.org/

Nothing amiss I see, so unless cleaning out temp storage aided the situation you might want to review this further at the WTT Microsoft Windows forum for more ideas.

Jintan, Thanks for look at it for me. I still have the problem , something is hammering my hard drive ( Lite on steady) for over five minuts after all startup programs are open and all Icons on the tool bar are shown, and task manager doesn't show anything. I do notic that I have three network icons on my tool bar(the two little computers), one has an X thru it, one is labeled asInternat connection 10 Mbp, Connected", and the third is labeled as"Wireless Network connection 54 Mbp, Connected". My laptop is wireless and connected to the SBC Modem via a wireless router. I guess that is normal but I'm not sure.

Hard to tell from the limited info the relationship between the icons and having a wireless with a router. Just to be sure, update McAfee since it is there available, then reboot into Safe Mode (at startup tap F8 and select Safe Mode) and run a complete scan then. If an option have it quarantine all items found, and also if their is an option (I don't use McAfee) save any report it creates. if anything is found by it post that log back here after.
