I thought the backlight might have gone out on my monitor. Had a brand new one in the box which I exchanged with the old one and the problem is still there. Obviously, not the monitor, but what?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Just have ask, if you have looked at the usual suspects in the crime?
Can you or do you know how to check the device manager for any errored or missing device drivers regarding display or video?
Can you or do you know how to set resolution and color depth properties in Windows (whatever version you are using)
Can you or do you know when this started to happen?
