hi kharley, when you hit the f2 key does it enter setup or the bios? since the floppy is not working i would remove the power and ribbon cable from it. you looked under device manager>disk drives for the hd name? start>run and type in cleanmgr then hit ok. put a check next to everything that shows alot of files. then click ok to remove them. anything in there can safely be removed. see if you can run disk defrag while in safe mode. to reach safe mode you would tap the f8 key during a computer reboot. chose first option safe mode. try running disk defrag. sorry cant say if all this is related to your HD or not.
