"host Process For Windows Stopped Working And The Program Has Bee

"host process for windows stopped working and has been closed" pops up when I log in in to my computer other strange things have been happening, like my antivirus apparently is out of date (it updates itself…or is supposed to) by what windows tells me. getting a new antivirus today. What does that popup mean, and how do I fix whatever problem there is? computer info: Windows vista home basic 382 MB ram 32 bit OS VIA Esther processor 1500 MHz 1.50 GHz

not much help, but vista is a relatively new OS. that message could point to several things, hardware, software conflicts. Vista is coming out with its first service pack soon to address issues. installed any new software lately? you only get it after you log in then thats it?
