I removed Norton and loaded Trend Micro but I don't see any big difference…am I missing something…It seems slower with Trend Micro and I lost Spy Bot since Trend won't work with it. Any suggestions.
The Paid Version of most the Major Anti-Malware players are competent security protection and do not differ from each other terribly much at any one time in their evolution.
Norton and McAfee are notoriously large footprinted resource hogs, while NOD32 is typically thought to be the lowest impact on system resources. The others range in between. People sometimes select based on this factor.

From time to time, one of the Major Players will come up with an "innovation" or discover the fix for a particularly annoying, destructive, or hard to remove piece of Malware currently plaguing the Internet.
But the other Majors will rapidly incorporate or generate a similar innovative protection in order to remain competitive and competent for their subscribers.

The typical user cannot keep switching Security Product subscriptions every time an innovation is developed and typically only "switches" when their current subscription expires. Until then, they may complain, and rue the day they bought their current product, but generally, they remain well protected.

The only notable exception to the above is the FREE version of AVG AntiVirus, which is competent, small in footprint, and FREE. Mostly as a result of the FREE feature, that AVG product is popular. However, it stands up well as a competent security product. Many owners of "low resource" machines find that AVG FREE is the best selection for their machines, because it tends not to "lag" their already low resource machine.

With regard to your present TrendMicro Product.
It is competent.
It is a resource hog on some machines.
It has a conflict with Spybot Search & Destroy - Immunize Function, that TrendMicro knows about but hasn't seen fit to fix as yet.

Here's how you can "fix" it:

1. Open the Spybot Search and Destroy program by clicking Start > Programs or All Programs > Spybot - Search & Destroy > Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Note: If you have already uninstalled Spybot from your computer, you need to install it again before proceeding.

2. Click Immunize on the left menu.
3. Click Undo. A message appears saying "All bad products are now allowed again".
4. Close the Spybot window and any other open programs.
5. Double-click My Computer on your Desktop.
6. Double-click Local Disk.
7. Go to the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security 2007 folder.
8. Delete the usrwl.dat file.
9. Restart your computer.

The usrwl.dat file will be created again by TrendMicro when you reboot or run TrendMicro for the first time.

Since the Immunize Function of Spybot is "valuable", I'd highly recommend that your add a similar competent "immunize" type utility, such as the passive utilities of SpywareBlaster or MVPS Host Files. Either/both can supply the same good kind of protection, neither consume resources, both are FREE, and either/both should play fairly on the same playground with TrendMicro.

Best Regards
