I've googled around a bit, but I haven't fixed the problem. My LAN connection works, but wireless doesn't. The signal is good, and status is "Connected", but still, it won't connect to the internet. What I have done: Previously, the connection showed "limited or no connectivity", and I wasn't able to do the Repair function. Repair would stop at renewing the IP address, but after some random fixes I found on the net (by putting in IP address and subnet mask in the TCP/IP properties), it became possible to renew the IP. The Repair function worked fine after that. But the problem persists. The wireless used to worked fine until my HD died, and I had to disconnect everything. After I fixed the laptop and reconnected the network stuff, the wireless hasn't worked. I'm running a dell inspiron 8600, Win XP, and TrueMobile 2300 router. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Recently this very same problem was evident here on my Network.

What firewall are you running?

I have Zone Alarm Free 7.0.362.000 and until I added my IP address to the Firewall/Zones area my Network would not work either. Once that was done I have had no problems at all with connectivity.

Hope this may help you.

kind regards,

I have the basic Windows firewall on. The wireless connection still doesn't work after I disabled the firewall.

Sorry that your problem still persists.

I can only think your Network is not set up correctly, however a more experienced volunteer will come by and maybe help you. I am certainly not an expert on Wifi Networks.

When adding a new computer to the network via Wireless connection, one must run the Router's application to add a new computer. Or if you already know the WEP or WPA encryption code, then you can apply it directly to your wireless computer. Without that, the signal can be GREAT, and your Router will still be doing its job of not letting you connect. Because to the Router, you will look like some stranger trying to log in without code permission. Best Regards

I'm not sure where/how to start. Can I post a screenshot or run something to show where the problem is exactly?
