Hi Folks!

Problem with son's computer…..
After booting up can use PC normally for a random amount of time before the attached blue screen pops up:
📎bluescreen_003_2.jpg

Hopefully you can enlarge and read it.
After the numbers on the bottom line finish counting up (I think to 100) the PC automatically reboots itself, and this cycle continues.

If you can't read it, basically it says:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer……..
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA……….
Yada yada yada………..
Beginning dump of physical memory………..
Dumping physical memory to disk: 1
counting up…….
Then it auto reboots!

Any idea and or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi 'techmut',

Sorry to read you are having real problems with your Son's computer. Yes I can read your screen shot sent ….very clearly.

I am not proficient enough to reply directly to your question for help, however can you answer the questions asked on the warning blue screen so when a more knowledged volunteer comes by your answers will help with their reply with a possible fix for you.

In the meantime I would press the power button and shut down the computer, wait for three minutes or so and then boot up again and see if you get the same blue screen message. Please report back here with the answer. Have you another computer nearby that you can work with so when you get more help from TC as to what to do you can follow more easily to correct the problem. Sorry I am not more help to you.

kind regards,
Greetings all:

Stop error 0x0000050 relates to some piece of requested data was not in memory.
the system generates a exception error (invalid page fault) using some sort of reference to an invalid memory address.

So what you may have is some defective memory, could be the main memory, l2 cache, video ram ect. Anywhere where data could be stored and given an address.

I would rule out the main memory first by running some memory tests. Memtest86 is a good choice for this.

Another way to troubleshoot the main memory is to remove one of the sticks (if you have several) and run and see if your trouble returns. Keep swapping them and see if you can identify the bad one. I should point out that populate memory from slot 0 outward.

Rarely but an outside chance is some conflicting/incompatable software is kicking off this error. Did you add something recently?

This should give a starting point in which to work in.

Regards and Good luck
