Ignorelist Problems

I have had HijackThis 1.9 for a couple of years. Recently, when I try to add an item to the ignorelist, it won't stay there. I close the program, re-open it, run the scan and the item shows up again. I look in the ignore list and it's not there. I add it, check the ignorelist and it's there. Do a scan and it shows no entry. BUT...if I close the program and redo this whole process, the entry is back again in the scan list and missing from the ignore list. I thought there was a glitch in my program so I removed HijackThis and reinstalled it. Now none of the entries will stay in the ignore list. Before it was just new items. Any ideas?
