Very Strange

ok… here goes. a 4 month old hp pc running windows vista displays the hp logo and then checks the cd drives. after that the screen has a black (dos) background and in red letters says sku no. underneath that made up of white x's is the word fail, really big. any ideas on this at all? thanks in advance,

Hi Sorry to hear of the problem with your machine, As its only 4 months old The best bet, I think is to contact HP as you be able to activate the warranty/guarantee. If you go to the HP website you can set up a tech session with an HP tech who will know all the error codes specific to your machine Regards paws

that dosnt sound good. did it come with vista installed on it? at 4 months it must still be under warranty. i would contact HP first. dont want to do anything that would void the warranty

Hi there Did you buy your PC from a reputable shop, or was it off a random person? Sounds to me like it's an illegal copy of Vista, but i could be wrong. Either way, if you have the warranty, as suggested above, take it back.
