I'm Ben, and I'm going to try and help you with your computer problem. Forum administrators will be checking my recommendations before I post them here, so there may be a slight delay between posts.
The fixes I'm about to suggest are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine. They are not blanket fixes!
Here are some guidelines to follow during the repair process:
1. Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread!
2. If any other issues arise during the repair process, please let me know.
3. The process is not instant. Please continue to review my posts until I tell you your machine is clear. Remember, the absence of symptoms does not necessarily mean that everything is clear.
4. If you decide to seek help at another forum let us know. There just aren't enough helpers out there and tying 2 of us up is a waste of time.
5. If you have any questions about any advice given here please STOP and ask!

Please download the VB6 Runtimes and install them. Afterwards, try running the HijackThis install program again.
Once you've done that, run HijackThis and post a log here. If you need help, there are instructions here.

According to your log, your machine looks fine. You do, however, have a lot of programs running at once, which can eat up your system resources.
Here are some optional fixes you can perform if you want to help speed up your computer:
Run HijackThis and fix some or all of the following entries:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by CenturyTel
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Synchronization Manager] mobsync.exe /logon
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AtiPTA] atiptaxx.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP LanScan Server] C:\SCANJET\PrecisionScanPro\hpscnsvr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OneTouch Monitor] C:\PROGRA~1\VISION~1\ONETOU~2.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP Network Registry Agent] C:\WINNT\system32\hpnra.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINNT\system32\NeroCheck.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [InCD] C:\Program Files\Ahead\InCD\InCD.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IntelliPoint] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliPoint\point32.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPWNTOOLBOX] C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\hp business inkjet 1200 series\Toolbox\HPWNTBX.exe "-i"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PPWebCap] C:\PROGRA~1\ScanSoft\PAPERP~1\PPWebCap.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msnmsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /background
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [swg] C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe
O4 - Startup: Printkey-Pro.lnk = C:\Program Files\Printkey-Pro\PRINTK~1.EXE
O4 - Startup: Check for OneTouch Updates.lnk = C:\Program Files\Visioneer OneTouch\WiseUpdt.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
O4 - Global Startup: GoBack.lnk = C:\Program Files\Roxio\GoBack\GBTray.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Reader Speed Launch.lnk = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.exe.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe
O4 - Global Startup: NkVwMon.exe.lnk = C:\Program Files\Nikon\NkView4\NkVwMon.exe
Again, these are not bad entries, they are optional "weight" you can drop to let your computer run smoother.
Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)
It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.
Also, you may want to have a look at this link. It has some helpful advice for streamlining your PC.
Let me know what you decide to do, and how your computer is running after doing any of them.

After you run HijackThis, place checkmarks next to the entries that I've indicated. Then press the Fix button. HijackThis will do the rest.
