My computer has been running very slowly recently. Every time I shut down the computer, at least 4 error notices come up of programs that I have never heard of, asking me to end them in order to shut down. Today, when I turned on the computer, it asked me for a password in order to log on to my user name. Although, I have never used a password to log on before. After this, I attempted to download Adaware, and in the middle of scanning for ad aware, the computer popped up with a blue screen and says that it needed to shut down, but at this point I was not able to shut it down properly anymore. This happened in Safe Mode also. I updated McAfee, and did a virus scan, and no viruses were found.

I tried following the instructions on the Hijackthis site, and AVG anti spyware also wouldn't run in safe mode. It said that I needed to reinstall the program. So, I ran it in Normal mode, and it found 357 cookies, I deleted them. After completing the rest, my computer is still running slow. Just wondering if there is anything else I can do to fix it.

Here's the log:

Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
If any other issues arise let me know.
The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear. So lets do this to the end!
Please if you decide to seek help at another forum let us know. There is a shortage of helpers and tying 2 of us up is a waste of time.
If you have any questions about any advice given here please STOP and ask!

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Submit a file to Jotti
Please go here : http://virusscan.jotti.org/
On top of the page there is a field to add the filepath, copy and paste these filepaths: 1 at a time.

C:\windows\system32\125MTF.dll

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\FLDADV.dll

Then hit Submit
The scan will take a while before the result comes up so please be patient.
Then copy the result and post it here in this thread.

If Jotti's service load is too high, you can use the following scanner instead:
http://www.virustotal.com/xhtml/index_en.html

In your next reply I would like to see:
  • A new HJT log
  • The report from Vundo
  • The report from Jottis/virus Total
Thanks for the quick reply.

This is the Vundo Log:

I attempted to submit the files to jotti's malware scan, but neither one of the files worked. "The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file." I then attempted to browse for the files also, but it didn't seem that the files were on the computer at all. I tried the other site as well, but the same result.

DISABLE Spyware Doctor
It is a good program, but … it may hinder the removal of some HijackThis entries. You can re-enable it after you're clean.
From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".

You have QuickTime running at Startup. This is QuickTime's system tray icon and not necessary for the program to function properly. It is considered to be a resource hog.
You will still be able to start it manually if you need it. You can fix this with HijackThis, but you will need to change the setting in QuickTime
Player itself to keep it from resetting itself.. This is the item to fix in HijackThis:

    O4 - HKLM\\..\\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\\Program Files\\QuickTime\\qttask.exe" -atboottime

The error your recieving about PTAWIA has to do with your Kodak software or other camera type software.

The other error may have to do with music match.

Did you start recieving these errors after you did the following ???

Your HJT log has chaged dramatically. Did you fix a buch or 04
lines ?
OR
Run msconfig and stop a bunch of things at start ups ??
I've been receiving the error messages for a while. I couldn't figure out how to stop the quicktime and realplayer from starting at startup, so I ran MSCONFIG and disabled all. Should I enable them again?
At least re-enable these. They are protection software and should be allowed to run at start up. The rest will run when you call on them.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Doctor] "C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\swdoctor.exe" /Q
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Defender] "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe" -hide

A small bit of reading I have done suggests that the latest version of music match may cause one of those errors. You might try installing an older version. OR re installing that one.
