Hi, great to find this online help. Just recently I picked up a virus called "Trojan Downloader" which I deleted with an antivirus program ( a-squared). The computer went totally ballistic on next bootup. I could not acccess hardly any programs without "Illegal action" boxes, parameter problems etc sprouting up. The programs that did open didn't actually open up fully and were missing various components and options etc and all type was in bold and in a different font.

After using other anti virus and spyware programs ( cc cleaner, adaware, spybot etc) and getting rid of some suspect programs from the startup menu, the computer seems to be working as per usual offline.

Unfortunately now when I go online the pc keeps freezing. Sometimes within minutes, sometimes after half an hour so. I can still move the curser but everything which is open seems frozen. Even pressing ctrl/alt/delete does not seem to be able to close the open programs.

Here's my log via hijackthis in safemode.
Thank very much for your help, Bronnie

Hello Bronnie and welcome to the TomCoyote Forums! :wavey:

We apologize for the delay in responding. We are being swamped with requests and some topics do get overlooked at times.

Are you still having the problems?

If so, can you get to normal mode (without getting online) and do a new Hijack This scan and post the log here in a reply.

I just noticed you do not have the latest Hijack This version, which is 1.99.1. Please go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and download the latest version before scanning.
