Hey gang... keep up the great work. I'm thankful there are people like you guys out there.

Have an odd problem and wondering if someone can take a look. My computer seems to be grinding to a halt and odd pop ups have been appearing. My virus scanner detected this...

C:/documents and settings/compaq_owner/local settings/temporaryinternetfiles/content.ie5/g5uomh3v/errorsafefreeinstallw_bab.vir

But... I can't find the temporary internet files folder in the Local Setting even after I show the hidden folders

As well, in the HJT log, I can find any instance of error safe whatsoever.

Wondering id someone can take a look... thanks in advance.

I notice you have Panda Antivirus 2007 installed along with Norton/Symantec AntiVirus. You should only have one Anti Virus running 'resident'. Having two will/can cause conflicts a lower your security.
Has one of those applications subscriptions expired? That is the one I would remove.

Please download VundoFix by Atribune to your Desktop
http://www.atribune..../click.php?id=4

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
• Click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
• Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

I followed your instructions and the only thing that didn't show up in the first HJT scan only was this... it wasn't anywhere to be checked... O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D651AFF4-9590-424d-BD1E-8E33E090DFB3} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\tmp9.tmp.dll (file missing)

VundoFix most likely removed it for us. It may do the same for the ones listed below also.

Well VundoFix didn't get it all. Need you to perform the following.


Please visit www.uploadmalware.com.

• Enter your username in the first field.
• In the 2nd field, include a link to this thread which is; http://forums.tomcoy...a...st&p=373428
• Press the Browse button next to the first File(s) To Submit: field.
• Browse to the following file and upload it:
  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msdqic.dll

Reopen VundoFix.exe
<right-click> in the main program window, choose "Add more files?".
Type or Copy and Paste the next line into the box EXACTLY AS SHOWN:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msdqic.dll

Click Close Window, then Remove Vundo.

You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.

Start HijackThis as you did to generate a log, but this time click on 'Do a system scan only'.
Place a checkmark in the boxes to the left of the following entries, by clicking on them:
