OK, i managed to infect my computer with the ntos.exe trojan.
Hijack this would not remove it, even in safe mode.
Also in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and deletiing the string in Userinit C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe,C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntos.exe, does not work. The ntos.exe would always reappear into the Userinit string.

I followed the instructions from this link here
http://pressf1.pcwor...ead.php?t=78477

So wat i did was
Safe Mode
go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
edited the Userinit from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe,C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntos.exe, to C:\WINDOWS\System32\Userinit.exe and it worked! Dunno why. I then changed back teh lower case "System32" to an upper case "SYSTEM32"

Used the program IceSword to force delete the ntos.exe file from the C:/Windows/System32/

OK ntos.exe now removed from computer

HiJackthis, I get teh following:
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe

It Use to be F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe, C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntos.exe,

Just wanna know it its ok to remove this from HiJackThis, i read somewhere that removing the userinit.exe from the registry makes it impossible to log back into windows.

Welcome to the forum,

This is legit, this is what you want although you can remove it with HJT with no problems.
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe

I need to see an entire HJT log including the header.

Hijackthis 1.99.1
Its important that Hijackthis is installed in its own permanent folder for backup purposes.
  • Go to where you currently have HJT installed and delete the whole folder.
  • Use the link above or the links in my signature to download HJT 1.99.1 setup to your desktop
  • Double Click on the Setup icon and by defaut it will unzip to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis
  • Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
  • Go Format and make sure Wordwrap is unchecked
  • Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread.
  • Please use Posted Imageand not Posted Image
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
