This was actually something that happen on my laptop. When i was transfering some files from my laptop to PC through a thumbdrive, Spybot put up a dialog box saying that Search & Destroy has detected an important registry entry that has been changed. I know something is wrong but i don't know what until now.

This is what happen when i double-click my C:/ drive.

This is why i couldn't open up my C drive.

There are two new thingy appear ontop rather than the usual "Open". They are "Autoplay" and "Search". Can someone help me remove those things and restore it back to normal? Thanks!
Hi,
You did well to post a HJT log in the malware forum. It is important that you do not receive advice here until your HJT log has been analysed by a malware expert.

You have a number of undesirable elements present on your machine, so its important for you to follow, exactly the advice of the malware expert when they post a reply to you.

Although it's difficult, waiting for a response, please try and be patient, if you can, as the experts on that forum are often snowed under with folks who need their specialised advice and detailed instructions. Be assured however they will get round to you as soon as they possibly can.

I see that you have already made a "reply" to your original post in the malware forum… that is unfortunate as it's important that you do NOT make an extra post to your thread on the malware forum, until you have had a response from one of the experts there as they tend to look out for unanswered posts as a priority and if you make an additional post they may assume that you are being helped and this may delay matters somewhat.

However as you have made a reply, it will be best to wait and if you have not received a reply to your original post in the malware forum in 5 days (from the date of yourorinal post) please go here:
http://forums.tomcoyote.org/If_No_Response…ays_t65180.html

Once your machine has been declared "clean" by the malware expert, please post back in this forum here, if you have any issues remaining and we will do our best to assist you.
Regards
paws
My PC has been declared clean with the help of the helpers in the Remove Malware Thread. But now this problem still remain the same ( the one which i posted the screenshot ). How can i remove the "Autoplay" and restore it back to the normal "open"
Hi, Well done on getting your machine declared clean. 1 Are you still getting the reference to the vbs script as shown in your original screen shot? 2 Are you able to double click on your C drive and access the contents? What problems are you currently experiencing with your machine? Regards paws
Hey paws! Thanks for helping me out. But the helper in the malware thread had help me solve the problem already. So sorry for the post.
Hi, Glad you got it solved. Well done. Just for anyone else who has been following the thread, the solution to getting the "tasks", "other places" and "details" left side pane back is usually accessed by: 1 Click on My Computer 2 Click on Tools 3 From the drop down menu click on "folder options" 4 On "General" Tab click on " Show tasks in common folders" so a dot appears in the "radio" button 5 Click on "Apply"> OK Regards paws
