You have done very well. It looks like all the bad stuff is gone.

Just a few things for you to do.

If you know what these are and use them then leave them otherwise fix these entries with HJT. If you remove them and need them you will just be prompted to download them again the next time you visit the site so no harm done if you remove them.

Now I need you to update your Java as your version is outdated and leaving holes in your system for the bad guys to get in.
  • Your Java is out of date and leaving your system vulnerable.
  • Go to your Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java (J2SE Runtime Environment)
  • It should have an icon next to it:
    [external image: Posted Image]
    Select it and click Remove.
  • Reboot your system.
  • Then go to the Sun Microsystems and install the update
  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 11 <–This is what you need to download and install.
  • If you chose the online installation, it will prompt you to run the program.
  • If you chose the offline installation, you will be prompted to save the file and you can run it from wherever you saved it.
  • Then after install you can verify your installation here Sun Java Verify
I like to to do the offline installation and save the setup file in case I may need it in the future

How is your system running now??? If all is ok, I have some free programs for you to install to help keep you more secure on the internet.

Ken :D :D :D
Good morning Ken, My system is doing very good now no more pop ups Thanks for all your help. I would like for you to tell me if I need to uninstall some of the spyware that I downloaded I think I may have too many things starting up. I will do the other things you ask me to do later on today. I don't have time now. Have a great day CMcKee :D I'm very happy now.
Hi Ken I didn't remove anything from hjt because I do use them. I did not see java in the add-remove programs but I did fine it in my programs but I don't know how to uninstall from there should I just delete it or what. Any way I ready to move on to the next thing with this computer every thing is working fine now. Can I put my file back the way they were now. Thanks CMcKee
cmckee

As far as the 016 entries, thats fine as long as you know what they are.

Can I put my file back the way they were now. <– Not sure what you mean by this.

Do this.
Open Hijackthis
  • Go to Misc Tools> Open Uninstall Manager.
  • Click on Save List.
  • The list will open in Notepad.
  • Copy and Paste the List into this thread

The AVG Anti Spyware program we installed is just a trial but after the trial you will still be able to check for updates, run scan and remove what it finds, you will just lose the background guard feature after the trial so its your call if you want to keep this fine program or uninstall it via the Add -Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

You also have SpySweeper, and Spyware Doctor, you really only need one, so if there just a trial than remove one of them.

You have Norton Anti Virus, keep that one but remember with Anti Virus software MORE IS NOT BETTER so don't install another one. Does Norton include a firewall??

The free programs I will post later will not interfere with what you have already, but lets get your Java updated first.

It looks like you updated your Java, just uninstall this via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Pane.

Go to Start> Control Panel> Add-Remove Programs and uninstall this
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5

I would like you to uninstall this program also, its part of a trojan but I don't see it on your HJT log.
WinFlyer

WinFlyer
is part of a trojan program, although I don't see it on your log lets run the first part of the tool to see if its present.

Please download SmitfraudFix
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Malware Complaints
Are you mad ? I mean really mad, seething mad, so mad your ready to spit, mad that you have taken your hard earned dollars to buy a computer only to have some Miscredents, Dirt Bags and Cyber Criminals install a malicious program on your computer without your knowledge or consent. You can post your complaint at the above site. If you live in the U.S.A. you can also report your grievance to your State Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Check for Updates and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Win Patrol This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give you the option to deny the change.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 2.0 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.
  • Zone Alarm Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I wouldn't access the internet without it.
Thanks for stopping by Tom Coyote , I'm glad I was able to help you. :D
Firewalls like AV software you should only have one. If you are using just Norton Anti Virus than you can use ZoneAlarm, if you have the the entire suite of Norton that includes a firewall than uninstall ZoneAlarm. If you keep ZoneAlarm, then you have to give the programs you use permission to access the internet, you just have to do this one time, when you click on Internet Explorer and it says that it wants to access the internet , give it permission and put a check in the box to not ask you again. You can also open ZoneAlarm and click on Program Control > then the Programs Tab, then scroll down and click on Internet Explorer and and under Access click on Allow for both the Trusted and Internet Zone. Ken :D
