Super Slow Computer

hello,my name is mark and I need help freeing up disk space on my d drive,however do not know which ones to remove.My computer is super slow and my printer wont print.I got this compute the day vista came out which was January 30,2007 so its fairly new.I currently have 57 programs installed which total in size of 2.35GB.I have only 4.32MB free of 6.58GBon my HP Recovery(D:)I also have 56.1GB free of105GB on local disk (C:)I could not copy and paste on like a hijack this log so I wrote all 57 programs down and here they are.Please help me,and I appreciate all you guys do.Thanks again,Mark. Hi, Sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing with your computer. Please be very careful when accessing or attempting to access your d drive. This is often the partition that contains your route to restoring the operating system in the event of serious trouble. (The fact that you refer to it as "Restore" means that you should probably leave it alone until its needed!) Unless you know definitely that your d partition is Not used as described above then it is best to leave it well alone and not to try and free up any space on it. You have plenty of space on your C drive for your applications, but as I see you are running file sharing applications (which have inherent dangers), you should ensure that your anti virus is updated at least daily (preferably more often and also that your two way (bidirectional) firewall is correctly configured. It might be sensible to research the dangers/advantages/precautions involved with file sharing now, (unless you are expert in this area and have already protected your machine. ) With a non functioning printer on a practically brand new machine it might be best to consult the retailer/manufacturer or their approved service agent under the terms of the guarantee/warrant or service agreeement. Sometimes downloading all the printer manufacturer's installation instructions together with any updated drivers, getting someone with a working printer to print them out for you and then uninstalling, your old printer. rebooting and then installing it afresh (following the instructions to the letter) works well. If however you are not confident that you can do this 100% accurately then its best to consult the service folks/retailer/manufacturer of your new machine and ask them to do it for you. Regards paws

are you mistakingly downloading and saving apps to your D partition? computers come with alot of bloatware but i dont think HP is shipping out dvd tools. you should be saving and installing software to your main (C:) drive.
