You can remove any programs I had you install. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove if listed there:
Log looks good
You need to create a new Clean restore point.
Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points
Turn off System Restore:
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Restart your computer, turn it back on.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.
If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.
Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.
Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.
It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.
Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware
Safe Surfing.
I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?

done the restore part..
the hidden files I did this morning when we were done with the scamdisk.exe part.
I uninstalled the mcafee anti-virus and firewall per 'dough' and installed avg antirus and zonealarm firewall. they are working perfectly… I usully run a defrag once week, and been using spybot for 2 yrs now, and always tell friends to use it too.
i know some.. but not too deep. usully help friends with simple stuff.
Thanks a bunch.. Happy Easter LDTate.
EDIT: Oh.. 'dough' told to use PCPitstop for some tests.. but I keep getting these errors, and never get to finish the tests that are being run. any chance for a hand??
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pcpbios.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Then the test would go on until getting this error message.
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.
The following add-on was running when this problem ocured:
Add-on Name: PCPitstop.dll
Company Name: P.C. Pitstop LLC
Description: PCPitstop ActiveX
and when I would click Continue, everything closes down.
ed3000gt
