Thanks for you assistance and help.

Happy Easter
Hello and Welcome to the forum.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please go to http://virusscan.jotti.org , click on Browse, and upload the following file for analysis:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\scamdisk.exe

Then click Submit. Allow the file to be scanned, and then please copy and paste the results here for me to see.

If Jotti is too busy you can try these.

http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html

http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
I did everything as instructed.. but not able to find such file on the directory. then did a system search and nothing came up for it.

here is another HJT from this morning.

what else should I do?

also, is it normal for your website locking the internet explorer windows? its been happening, and the only way to get for it to do something is alt+ctrl+del and quiting the program, otherwise I am not able to close it.

Thanks.

No it isn't.

Can you think of any reason your using a Proxy Server?

As you can see, that file is listed.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msig] C:\WINDOWS\system32\scamdisk.exe

Do you do this? under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."?
yep.. did everything as instructed. then did search and nothing came up.. and I have no idea why I am using a proxy sever. If needed to disable, just tell me how. I have a hub to which I have 3 computer and 2 game consoles attached to.. Thanks :D PS: is it normal to have capital letter on files such as this one from running processes? "C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE"
I suggest you do this:

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Launch Notepad (Start>All Programs>Accessories), and copy/paste all the Quoted REGEDIT below to it. Don't forget to include REGEDIT4.
Save in: Desktop
File Name: fixme.reg
Save as Type: All files
Click: Save

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"msig"=-

On the desktop, doubleclick fix.reg and allow it to run. Let it merge.

If you end up needing the proxy server, HJT has a backup folder to restore it.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
the scamdisk.exe wasn't on the HJT when I was deleting the other ones.

should I leave the fixme.reg on the desktop?

computer is running better than before when I had McAfee.

but just locked again when accessing your page. it's funny.. it is like is trying to load something.. and just freezes.. I click on the corner to close and it won't responde.. right click on the task bar and select close and doesn't do anything.. shows mouse arrow with glass sand clock. only way to close is by taskmanager…

here is the latest and greatest…

thanks.

PS: how about the ones that say 'file missing' , should I do anything about it?

When was the last time you ran defrag?

should I leave the fixme.reg on the desktop?

You can delete it.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
O16 - DPF: {94118C19-B178-4E43-BBE8-0EFDBB391BDB} - http://www.sponsoradulto.com/en/SysWebTelecom.cab

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
still having trouble with the forum pages. found something interesting on task manager.
had 3 msimn.exe running all between 20,000K and 22,000K.

would that cause your website to freeze?

last defrag date was 03/31. just did another today.

Looks like it found and cleaned a virus  Is it running any better? Do you use Outloook Express?
lets see if this will help

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

NOTE: To be extra safe you can choose to only remove the items in RED.
Some items may come back because of the programs you have running.
just ran the regseeker.. got 800 and some first time.. 200 and some second time. 14 last.. e then nothing.. gonna restart now.. and then add another HJT. Thanks
