The RED items I highlighted I have removed either with HJT or Regedit and they are reinstalled, the Services.exe in WINNT is invisible and the task manger shows 2 of them running and won't allow you to stop either one. This thing constantly attempts to hijack the browser from startup directing it to its own path (I have software that blocks the attempts but they keep coming). I have erased files from the regedit and then opened in safemode but they are back there again.

Hi fj45and welcome to Tom Coyote forums

I am currently looking over your log. As I am an Undergraduate, everything that I post to you must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a potential fix.

In the mean time can you post me a further HJT log which includes the header.

Thanks for your patience!

Your version of HJT is out of date:Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.0. latest version Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
That's why I wanted the header.
Remove old version via add and remove programs in control panel.
_________

Click here to download HJTsetup.exe, and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Copy and paste the log here
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Post a new log
Thanks dan
