Has HJT Found Anything Here?

I'd appreciate any advice on this issue. My 'puter will go into hibernation and then 5 minutes later, it will turn itself back on. Aside from being possessed, could spyware cause this? I run SS&D, Spyware Blaster and Ad-Aware semi-regularly to clean up things.
This issue has only been happening for a few days now. Any thoughts? Here's my HJT scan.
Thanks for any help/advice.

Hi, The forums are really busy, that explains why logs get behind. If you still need some help, please start with posting a new hijackthislog in this thread. Don't start with a new thread. Then I'll take a look. Regards, Rosty.
Hey Rosty-

Thanks, I appreciate it. Here's today's scan. I'm not too comfortable about picking out the "bad guys". So far, these look like promising candidates.

-Thanks for your advice!!

Hi BostonChris,

Also- what about getting rid of the Symantec files

The only thing related with symantec in your log are activeX objects!! You can see them in the o-16 lines. They do no harm, they are all legit. But we can fix them if you wanne get rid of them.

Please install an firewall first, because it doesn't make any sense to remove malware from your system if no scanner is preventing them from reinfecting your computer.

Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over:
Kerio Personal Firewall OR ZoneAlarm are good FREE firewalls.

Read Understanding and using firewalls to learn more about using firewalls

VERY IMPORTANT: Never install more than ONE firewall on your system! Several together can give problems and decrease their reliability and effectiveness!

Hey Rosty-

-Thanks for your input. Firewall installed and as requested here are the HJT & AVG scans. While running the AVG Spyware tool, it did give me a msg about it being unable to delete a file (because it was in the restore [or backup? -sorry, didn't write it down] folder….do you want to quarantine the entire folder (I answered no) So I"m not sure if it's still lurking somewhere in my system. Thanks for taking a look.

Hey Rosty-

Here's the latest HJT log after I completed your suggestions. Let me use the 'puter for a day and see how it responds to all the changes that we've made. I'll update you on Sunday night. Thanks again.

As promised, here's the update. My 'puter is still quirky. Despite having the proper power settings, my monitor is the only thing that sleeps. The hard drive does not hibernate or go into standby mode (on it's own). If I do it manually (i.e. Start>Standby), it will do that…….. but only for 10 min or so. Then it turns itself back on. Any thoughts as to the cause? The only time it worked properly was after I upgraded my OS to XP. (I also had the same issue prior to the upgrade)Could one of my other programs be the cause? I"m at a loss with this one. P.S. I am eternally grateful though that my 'puter is definitely spyware free thanks to your help. -Chris
Hi BostonChris,

Please open HijackThis, click do a scan only and place a check next to the following entries:

O4 - Global Startup: PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Screen Saver Control.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\FSScrCtl.exe
O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} (cpbrkpie Control) - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/1452/ftp…02/cpbrkpie.cab

Close all Windows and Browsers, except HijackThis and click"Fix Checked".Exit HijackThis.

Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found - if found, so don't worry it tells that there were no files found.
In case hidden files were found, Don't choose for rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there…
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)

Please post a new hijackthislog and the log from Blacklight.

Regards,

Rosty.
Thanks Rosty-

Here are the HJT and Blacklight scans as requested. Anything interesting? Blacklight did not find any files. Thanks.
-Chris
