Yes, I removed the McAfee virus from my pc. My computer seems to be running fine. Here are the results from HJT

Well done! I'm happy your log is now clean!!
couple of things left to do.

Now I would like you to reset your system restore points by following the instructions set out below

1) On the Desktop, right-click My Computer
2) Click on Properties. Click the System Restore tab.
3) Look for the box near the top which says
Turn off system restore off on all drives

4) Place a tick in the box to disable
5) Click Apply first, and then click OK and the window will dissapear.

Now reboot your computer….

6) Right-click My Computer once more
7) Click on Properties. Click the System Restore tab again
8) Look for the box near the top which says
Turn off system restore off on all drives

9)Take out the tick from the box so it is empty
10) Click Apply first, and then click OK.
Now restart your computer once more to complete the process

Hide System Files
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • SelectTools menu
  • Click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Uncheck Show hidden files and foldersin the Hidden files and folders section.
  • Select Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Check the Hide file extensions for known file types option.
  • Click Yes.
  • Click OK.

To enable the Show Hidden Folders option:
From your Desktop
Right-Click:My Computer
Left-Click:Explore.
Select from the Tools menu:Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Advanced Settings>Hidden files and folders
select: Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide extensions for known file types
Also
uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click: Yes to confirm warnings.
Click:OK

Now you can make your hidden files hidden again.
  • Go to My Computer
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
  • Click the View tab.
  • Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
  • Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
  • Check "Hide protected operating system files"
  • Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.

A few things to help with possible threats in the future would be to download run and keep all these programs updated.
Adaware
spybot seach & destroy
spyware Blaster

Always keep windows patched and updated.
And it goes without saying do not open Email from someone you don't know.
