Hello ajsmalls, welcome to the forum.

Lets do this and see if any bad guys are left.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, click on the Scanner run a full scan and let it clean everything it finds. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
wow…..ewido found many 'trojan downloaders'….below is the log, and the latest hijackthis log………….im just curious….do those trojan downloaders change their name or replicate themselves in anyway when I reboot?

im just curious….do those trojan downloaders change their name or replicate themselves in anyway when I reboot

Yes they do that all the time :rant2:

I see you disabled some startup entries via msconfig. Let's take a look if there are still programs/files present that needs to go.

Open Notepad, (Start button, click on Run, type in Notepad, and click OK) copy & pastes the following block of text into Notepad:

regedit /e startup.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg"
start notepad startup.txt

Click on 'File', then 'Save as'
Select 'Save as type:' as All Files,
Save the file to the desktop as look.bat. Close Notepad.

Double click on look.bat and a notepad file should open. Copy the contents of that file to your next post.
=====
Doesnt seem to be much……. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg] im also curious about these programs listed in my last hijackthislog; C:\WINDOWS\system32\devldr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\HPZipm12.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe are these valid?
I rebooted into safe mode…

ran ewido, found some more stuff and cleaned it (see log below)….

ran CWSshredder, found and cleaned CWS.msconfig…….

ran adaware, found nothing…….

ran spybot, found nothing…….

I even ran mcaffe again, found nothing…..

I then turned off system restore, and rebooted……

here are my latest logs

I also have another question…….I use CCleaner to clean up the junk on my computer, Ive never used its registry cleaner…..I dont know if thats too risky to play with or not? But I ran the 'Scan for Issues' in the registry section and I was just curious about some of the items that came up, see below for examples. Should I fix items like these? Problem Data ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\winge32.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\netzd32.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\apijn32.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\d3na.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\iphk32.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\crtc.exe ActiveX/COM Issue LocalServer32\C:\WINDOWS\netcg.exe THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!
Backup your Registry…
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run…)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL

I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.
I ran and cleaned with Regseeker, I had no problems with my system after making deletions……..I think that was a big help to my computer overall in general…..Ive never seen my computer reboot so fast….THANK YOU….. But there seems to be one very annoying lurking problem…..a trojan that i just cant get rid of….. :jjaa.dll i reboot my computer into safe mode, run ewido which finds and deletes it, I then reboot back into normal windows……then I just do a file/folder search for jjaa, and it finds nothing….i then reboot into safe mode, run ewido and it finds the trojan again…..this keeps hapenning over and over…….what do you suggest? ——————————————————— ewido security suite - Scan report ——————————————————— + Created on: 9:07:18 AM, 9/23/2005 + Report-Checksum: 529817D6 + Scan result: C:\WINDOWS\system32:jjaa.dll -> TrojanDownloader.Small.azk : Cleaned without backup ::Report End

Regedit will open. Make sure My Computer is highlighted. At the top of the window click edit> Find> then copy and paste the following into the window.

jjaa.dll

Then click find now.
When you find the entry right click on it and select delete, answer ok at the prompt.
Next, press "F3" to continue searching, if another instance is found, repeat the above steps, until you see the "completed searching" message.
didnt seem to work……. i searched the registry for, jjaa :jjaa.dll jjaa.dll just one time it found two entries…..one said entry said (default) and I was unable to delete it….the other entry said jjaa and I was able to delete it….. But I rebooted the computer, ran ewido, and it found it again….see log below…. ——————————————————– ewido security suite - Scan report ——————————————————— + Created on: 9:09:10 PM, 9/23/2005 + Report-Checksum: E92832C + Scan result: C:\WINDOWS\system32:jjaa.dll -> TrojanDownloader.Small.azk : Cleaned without backup ::Report End
This is quite perplexing…………. At first I was unable to find the registry keys again, but now they are back…..below is what is displayed when I search Regedit for jjaa, I am able to delete the '000' entry, but not able to delete the '(default)' entry………. Name Type Data ab (default) REG_SZ (value not set) ab 000 REG_SZ jjaa Ewido lists the trojan as C:\WINDOWS\system32:jjaa.dll But I am unable to find or literally see the file in that folder? And I dont understand the colon, isnt ':' an invalid character for a file name? I have searched the internet for info on jjaa, and I can find nothing. Have you ever heard of jjaa? My computer performance doesnt seem to be affected, Im just nervous as to what this thing is actually doing? What do you suggest?
