Lately when I am browsing with Netscape, a little popup box rises up in the lower right side of the screen with a message that says something to the effect of "all items have been downloaded" or something like that. Thing is, I didn't authorize or ask to download anything. Also, numerous unwanted icons have been appearing on my desktop, with names like blank.cgi Zonealarm seems oblivious to this. Repeated runs of Spybot S&D and Adaware found nothing amiss.
This morning upon bootup, I caught a glimpse of a DOS window, running something called ppcleaner.exe Google search tells me it's something Yahoo installed about 2 weeks ago (again, I didn't authorize this), but I did upgrade to the newest Yahoo Messenger about the same time. I do not like or trust Yahoo, my instinct is to delete this file, but decided to post here first…
I rarely ever run IE, prefer Opera for everyday browsing, Netscape for pages that need Flash or other multimedia stuff.
Can anyone take a gander at my log and see if I've been infected by something? Thanks!
