Have 3 browsers on pc,opera(most used),ff, ie7(because u have to) At present some sites I try to visit (all browers) are redirecting me. The address bar shows the typed, linked or bookmarked url, but the page is not the correct page. Not all sites are affected, WWW.PCADVISOR.CO.UK is affected, Can visit Ebay.ie, but when I click on the link for phones, I'm taken elsewhere. Have unafected laptop connected to same router, hence this post. Have run updated scans with,Avasti,SpyBot, AdAware,ASquared,WinDef, MS Malicious Software REmoval.Nothing found. Have checked "HOSTS" ,no additional entries. What next.???
Have run "Blacklight and found "csobz.exe and dmobh.exe"

I had it fixed but because I hadn't done a /FLUSHDNS I was still geting the redirects. Something that maybe somebody might be able to explain for me is. I had deleted the hijacking name server from registry manually ( figured out by comparing good laptop reg key with bad PC reg key) but the deleted key still showed up in HIjackthis log. How come???
Hello and Welcome to the forum.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Defender
We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{6B83E17F-4BA5-4F73-B4D8-55B74C5B118E}: NameServer = 85.255.115.82,85.255.112.191
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{6B83E17F-4BA5-4F73-B4D8-55B74C5B118E}: NameServer = 85.255.115.82,85.255.112.191

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Delete these files if listed:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSOBZ.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMLLT.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMOBH.EXE

No need to download again but please run it. Sometimes it takes 4-5 times running Fixwareout and the flushdns to remove the bad 017's

Double Click Fixwareout.exe and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads a text that will open (report.txt) Please save this file, you'll need to post it with a new HijackThis log.

Next:
Click Start> Run> type in CMD tap enter key
Copy/Paste: ipconfig /flushdns
If you are typing this in, note the space between the g /f
It needs to be there.

Now lets check some settings on your system.
Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections

Then right click on your Default Connection
Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
Left click on Properties
Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
Note: Do this for all Network Connections
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Thanks LDTate. PC is now working fine and after the ordeal, running 5 spyware and anti.virus apps that found nothing, it's beyond me now to run Hijack this or fixware logs. I had got around to doing everything suggest in your post . I also ran Blacklight which picked up to the 2 files listed C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSOBZ.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMOBH.EXE. Again thanks for your reply.

I suggest you post a new HijackThis log

Thank you for your continued interest. Question: I have a fully patced XPsp2, run Avasti anti-vir,windows defender, etc, etc. Still I get infected. Is there no 100% solution? Makes me wonder about using online banking, etc. Thanks

As far as I know there isn't a 100% solution. No 1 program does it all and when the bad guys change, the programs that will kill them have to change. Most infections come from porn sites, bogus emails and site one visits. In my canned clean speech, please read the link: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Good Job

Log looks good :D

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.
IE Spyads
They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
