Hi there;
During web browsing the "critical systems errors" bubble appeared, this led to the Win Antivirus.com
site. My wife registered and paid for this software, loaded it, and (not surprisingly), it was promptly
found to be useless.
I uninstalled that software, and then installed the pctools spyware doctor software.
The vast majority of problems have now been sorted as a result.
Unfortunately the "critical system error" pop-up bubble still keeps re-appearing, any suggestions as to how to stop that?
Many Thanks
Hello mistergee and welcome to the TomCoyote Forums.
We need to have you run HijackThis and provide us with a log so we can identify any malware on your computer.
Download a copy of HJTsetup.exe from here and save it to your Desktop.
Double click HJTsetup.exe to begin installation.*By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
*Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
*Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
*Continue to follow the prompts from there.
*When HJT opens, click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button.
*When HJT has finished scanning, a window entitled "hijackthis.log" will open - when you close this window the log will be saved into the Hijackthis folder.
Copy and paste all the text from this log into your reply.
