Please Help Quickly!!!
I do constant research on the internet but I have a problem that will not allow me to access any web sites.
SYMPTOMS:
My home page has been hijacked by iesecurepage.com, when I try to access other sites I get a pop up at the top of the window which reads "the page you are looking for is probably blocked by adware/spyware on you PC. Remove it with System Doctor software. Click here." and there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in my task bar with a comment which reads "system alert: trojan - spy.win32@mx". I use Secure Resolutions antivirus and it keeps detecting "Adware/pest trap". I am also getting a message which reads "Critical system warning! Your system is probably infected with latest version of Spyware.CyberLog-X"

Welcome to Tom Coyote :)

Hijackthis needs to be in it's own folder, so

Click http://ralphcaddell.com/Uploads/HjThis.exe to download a self extractable version of hijackthis.Double-click on hijackthis.exe to extract hijackthis to folder c:\hijackthis.
It will extract it to that folder and open the folder for you.
It will also create a shortcut on your desktop to Hijackthis.
And repost your log the next time requested

For Now

Please go HERE

And Download SmitFraudFix by S!riSave it to your Desktop->>Rt Click->>Extract all->>and extract it to your desktop
Open The Smitfraud folder
Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Open that file, Ctrl+A to copy, and post a copy of that log as a reply to this thread
Do Not run option 2 until instructed to do so

Please note that some Antivirus programs flag process.exe as an infection, but it is actually a needed componient of this tool

Thanks bamajim

Good job

You may want to print out these instructions for reference

Since you have Ewido Anti spyware we are going to use it.

1. Reboot into Safe Mode
This can be done byRestart your PC, and after it starts, but before you see the Windows Splash screen
Begin tapping the F8 key twice a second untill you reach another menu screen (black background with white menu choices)
Use your arrow keys and select Safe Mode and then Enter
3. Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.
The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if your computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

4. Run Ewido Anti-SpywareClick scanner
Select Complete system scan
Once the scan finishesSelect Apply all actions (The items found will be quarantined)
Click save report as (Another window will open)
Save it to your desktop
(By default It will be saved in the AVG folder as)
C:\Program Files\Grisoft\Ewido\Reports
Exit AVG

Reboot your PC in Normal Mode->>Re run Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log.Double click the report-scan txt. you saved to your desktop
It will open in Notepad
Copy and paste that report as a reply to this thread
Your reply should includea fresh hijackthis log
your c:rapport.txt log from Smitfraudfix
your report_scan.txt from Ewido
Thanks bamajim

Thank you so much for your quick responses. Rubyling
Bamajim- It seems to be back to normal, :D But I still wasn't sure whether I should attempt to try and go online until I heard back from you. The yellow sheild shaped security warning icon in the lower right corner that appeared when the problem started is now gone. None of the pop ups that I was experiencing are occurring, and the Icodec file in my file folders of my C drive appears to have been removed. Should I try to go online and make sure all is well? I'll wait to do so until you have a chance to get back to me. Again thank you so much for your help so far. Ruby
rubyling Glad to hear it :) Yes please go back online, and let me know how that goes. Then before you leave I have some prevention information for you. thanks bamajim
Bamajim-Everything looks like it is back to normal. Thank you so much for your help. I would greatly appreciate any preventative help you could offer as well. Ruby
