Hi there.

I could use a little help…

I use Avast Anit-Virus with Sygate Pro Firewall…

The Last few days my internet has been wicked slow… I thought it was my ISP or the websites I was on.

i noticed today my Sygate Firewall was down… Its done this before… I had to uninstall and re-install it…

once the firewall was up and running again, the internet was lightning fast as usual.. and sygate keep popping up that firefox was trying to contact

iamdio.no-ip.org [removed] local port 1027 and remote port 2000 (Callback)… I ofcourse told it to block it… but it keeps trying so I figure my comp must have malware on it… has anyone ever heard of this before…

I was looking for the thread on how to interpret in HiJack This logs.. but I could not find it… so here is my log.. any help is appreciated. thx

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\system32\win.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\system32\win.exe

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Delete all of the following noted (in red) file(s)/FOLDER(s) you can find:

c:\windows\system32\win.exe <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)

P.S. - Please do not put the log in a "Quote" nor a "Code" box. It just makes it more difficult to decipher.

I did as you said… I think we got the bugger… the win.exe is gone and so are the HKLM and HKCU entires…. here is the log

I would appreciate a linky to the thread that explains what these entires mean… I've found it b4 but I can't find it now…
