Any ideas on how I can get the susp.exe to stay away?? I ran smitfraudfix (including safe zone), smitrem, HJT, Spybot, AdAware SE, and ewido, all while booted in safe mode, yet when I reboot normally, susp.exe is there again and the hijacked background re-appears (Spyware Sheriff/Total PC Protection/AntiSpyware Soldier). 6 hours into this one and still getting nowhere. Please help . . . . .
Hello and Welcome to the Forum.

Please delete any HijackThis Folders and Files you have now.

There's a new version of HijackThis.

Click the "Save" button.

Please put your HijackThis in it's own folder, (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT).
You can do a Right Click on any open area on the desktop, New> Folder, then rename the folder HJT.

Open HijackThis and select: Do a system scan and save a log file.

When the scan is finished, Click Edit> Select All> Edit> Copy> and paste its contents here [Add Reply].
Thanks much for the timely response. My HJT was the same version number but with an older executable date stamp. Here is the log obtained with the newer HJT. Thanks again for your help with this one. Its drivin' me crazy!! Prior to this latest "incursion", I've always run clean results on the HJT screen (having gradually saved as "okay" the entries that were part of my normal system - should I maybe be starting over with nothing on that "protected" list??). Yes this is the full log, but not from "safe mode". The HJT log comes clean when run from "safe mode". Then when I re-boot, the ad's start up again (and, I should have mentioned, I lose control within system restore - couldn't turn it off, and within screen properties, and a few other places - just can't click what I want to click). Thanks again for your help.
You don't have any protection as far as I can see. Lets start with a free Anti-Virus program

Click the HERE and Save, Install, Update and run a full scan.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment
I ran the AVG but it came up empty. I "unprotected" everything within HJT and ran it again in "safe mode". Log attached. I still have the everpresent background warning me of "Warning! Spyware Threat detected on your PC". In the systray is a yellow caution sign which pops every minute or so, with various dire warnings. I also can not select from within screen properties, control panel, system restore settings, etc. Not sure how to beat this one back. Susp.exe seems to be the recurring instigator of it all.
