using partition magic 8, i recently split my drive c almost equally to create a partition for os/, proggies, etc and another partition for mp3's. the split on drive f:(the mp3 drive) 77gb and 72gb used. drive c: is 77gb total and 5gb used. i want to take approx 50-55gb from drive c and give it to drive f: (logical)
is this doable, i cant figger it out looking at the partmgc options, thats why i ask.tks
Hi,
Please be sure to tread very carefully when altering partition size and check and then double check before committing yourself as it is quite easy to damage your system so that it will no longer boot.
You say that you have your operating system and all your programmes on your c drive but only 5 Gig has been used, this is a very small amount and if you only have a few programmes installed may be correct, however it could also indicate that some thing is wrong, so please go carefully.
Having said that there is no problem in what you suggest, but I would be inclined not to reduce your c drive to under 25 to 30 Gig as you will need to allow a bit of space for any extra programmes you load.
