Since the sick machine cannot recieve data, I had to download & update on my laptop the appropriate software and then move them all to the desktop via flashdrive (which I love). I think it worked, but you would be better able to tell from the logs below.
I deleted that svchost in order to do the 'Self Help' steps. Otherwise, I'd still be sitting there.
