My daughter "rubbed" a magnet up against the monitor of the computer and now there is a permanent gray shadow on the screen. How can I correct this annoying problem? Thanks
Hi, Theres no way as far as I know to correct a problem like that. It may go away after a while, because once, I put a magnet to my TV for fun, and it went away in a few months. Danny
"Some" monitors have a selection through the buttons on the front/bottom of the Monitor Case, to "Degauze", which roughly translates "to shake" the installed magnetic controls for the high energy beam projected from the back of a CRT. Give it a try if your monitor has one. If not, run an active "screen saver" for a while to see if that will begin/or accelerate the process of re-alignment that Danny is referring to. Best Regards
Sure, my monitor has a menu feature on the front of it. I pressed it and scrolled using the +/- buttons to Degauss option. Then pressed the return arrow feature also on the front of the monitor. The whole picture on the screen basically shooked. The gray shadow was gone. Mitzy
